I find that I am increasingly interested in sculpting without the restrictions of the lathe. I have always had a sculptural aesthetic in my work, whether it be from naturally occurring features in the wood or from carving and adding elements. As I grow as an artist, I imagine that wood will remain my chosen medium; no other gives the warmth, variety, or the sensual pleasure.
